VisionBank welcomes Kurt Matthewson

AMES, IOWA (Feb 10, 2014) – VisionBank Market President, Chris Brinkmeyer and President/CEO, Bob Grathwohl are pleased to announce the hiring of Kurt Matthewson as Senior Vice President, Commercial Manager.

Kurt is a University of Alabama-Birmingham alumnus and comes to VisionBank with over 25 years of lending experience. Kurt has held banking positions as a branch manager, residential lender and most recently as a commercial lender at City State Bank in Madrid, Iowa.

Kurt will be responsible for managing the commercial lending officers at the Ames-South Duff location and maintaining a commercial loan portfolio. “Kurt has a deep knowledge of lending and a history of great results in a customer focused community bank environment. We are very happy to add him to our outstanding lending team.” Chris Brinkmeyer said.

“We are pleased to have Kurt join our team. Kurt brings great lending experience which will help us to grow in our Ames market,” said Bob Grathwohl.

When asked about his new position Kurt said “I have always enjoyed working within the Ames marketplace. There is an unmistakable energy and vibrancy in Ames. Being able to office in Ames with VisionBank is an opportunity I am very thankful for.”

Kurt and his family live in rural Boone County. Kurt and his wife, Michelle, have a son, Cody, who attends Northwest Missouri State and a daughter, Cassidy, who attends DMACC.
