Mike Mahoney, Chairman of VisionBank of Iowa and VisionBankshares, Inc., is pleased to announce the hiring of Darrell E. Hughes to succeed Bob Grathwohl as President/CEO of VisionBank of Iowa. Grathwohl is the President of VisionBankshares, Inc., the bank’s holding company and has been serving as the bank’s President/CEO for the last 15 months. Grathwohl will continue to serve as the President of VisionBankshares, Inc.
Darrell is a long time Des Moines area banking executive and comes to VisionBank with over 33 years of senior level banking experience.
Darrell will be responsible for leading the VisionBank team and reporting to the Board of Directors. He will office out of our Ames Duff location but will spend time at all three of our market locations. “Darrell has a deep knowledge of banking and bank management and a history of great results in a customer focused community bank environment. We are very happy to add him to our outstanding team.” Mike Mahoney said.

Darrell has been actively involved with the Mercy Hospital Foundation, Variety Club of Iowa, Des Moines Club, Hyperion Field Club, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and the American Cancer Society.
