HUXLEY, IOWA (March 12, 2019) — Kegan Odden, a senior at Ballard High School in Huxley, was recently honored as the 2019 recipient of the Iowa Bankers Association’s Student Athlete Achievement Award during the Iowa Boys’ High School State Basketball Tournament on March 8 in Des Moines. The award recognizes a graduating senior student athlete who not only excels in athletics but also in the classroom and the community.

Odden was selected for the award based on his scholastic standing, leadership skills, community involvement and athletic participation.

Danielle Wolf, Marketing and Communications Officer at VisionBank in Huxley, presented Odden with a $1,000 scholarship to the college of his choice. “I’m pleased to have the opportunity to present Kegan with this award, recognizing his outstanding achievements,” Wolf said.

For more than two decades, the IBA has sponsored the Student Athlete Achievement Award program in partnership with the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union and Iowa High School Athletic Association. The program includes awards to student athletes in basketball, wrestling and football. The IBA has awarded more than $250,000 in scholarships since the program began.
